Covent Garden Stinks!

Bob Harper, building manager of 90 Long Acre, reports that from time to time they experience a sulphur (bad egg) smell emanating from the basement areas (drainage), Bob is also aware that No. 25 Bedford Street suffers the same problem.

Bob told the CGCA, "While struggling to solve the problem I found some old documentation and spoke to a colleague of mine who was involved with a similar problem in the same area in 1993, this affected a fair number of occupiers in the surrounding area. It was alleged that Thames Water was clearing the main sewer running (Long Acre - Leicester Square) after or while carrying out repairs, although this was not confirmed or accepted by them, the problem mysteriously disappeared after they had finished."

If you are experiencing problems of a similar nature, please contact Bob Harper, on bharper@nelson-bakewell.com indicating your location and any specific timings when you experience the problem.

Your help in solving this problem is most appreciated.
