Covent Garden London
The heart of London's West End
Covent Garden Area Youth Club
In its eighth year, the Youth Club is providing support to young people in the Covent Garden area, despite the fact that we have had no permanent accommodation since the demise of the Community Centre, now almost three years ago.
However where there is a will there is a way, and with our dedicated team of youth workers and a core of young people in Covent Garden, the club has continued to function two nights a week. One night our youth workers outreach, making contact with local young people, and on the remaining night, we have been very grateful to the Red Lion Square Tenants' Association for the use of their hall.
Once again the club has enjoyed support from our friends in the Covent Garden business community and we are very grateful to the Internet Exchange for their practical support and the continued generosity of the local Seven Dials Lodge.
For the future, we look forward to the opportunity of finding permanent accommodation in Stukeley Street through the Dragon Hall Trust. We are planning a programme of activities throughout the Bank Holiday week in June this year.
The management team for the club is small and we are grateful to the Metropolitan Police at Charing Cross Police Station for their continued representation, support and interest in the young people of Covent Garden. We are confident that, despite the difficult circumstances, the club will continue to give young people a voice and support in the Covent Garden area for years to come.
