Dudley Court Tenants' Association

The past year has brought more and more problems: drug addicts and homeless people getting into our estate and sleeping on staircases and in lifts, leaving an awful mess behind them, frightening residents, using our staircases and lift - and anywhere they can find - as a lavatory, and sometimes threatening people with knives.

The police have been able to do very little. The council have provided more and more blocking off of possible entrances and places for them to sleep. The outside perimeter of Dudley Court has also been a big problem regarding rubbish and lavatory use in every possible corner, causing a health hazard. The interior landings, staircases and entrances have been redecorated and the colour red is gradually being replaced by green. We hope to get an outside redecoration later in the year. The tenants' hall has been completely redecorated and a new ceiling installed.

Thank you to Mrs Summers, who has done a lot to make our gardens prettier and to the TA ladies who carry on running the bingo every Thursday for the elderly and the Christmas party and gifts to the elderly, plus Easter eggs for the children.

Thank you also to our estate manager and our patch manager who sometimes come to our meetings and try their best to iron out all our difficulties. Also thanks to our caretaker Kennedy.

Michael Wylde, Chair
