Last year was the fifth year of our TA, which we set up to improve the quality of life for the residents by promoting social integration in an atmosphere of friendship, comfort and safety, especially for the children in our building. Thanks to Peabody Trust, we now have our Common Room where we hold our TA meetings every two or three months. Membership of the TA stands at approximately 75% of all households. Their annual subscriptions as well as the financial help of Peabody's Welfare Department have given us a small budget to spend on our block. With the help of members who attend TA meetings, our Committee has decided on what to spend the money on. This year we have been able to maintain our garden in our open space with new plants and flowers and we especially thank Mrs Leslie Maguire for her work in this. We have also been able to provide two pick-nick tables on our open space, so that tenants can sit out during the summer. In the common room we have provided a full size table tennis table, as well as a small pool table for the children (and parents....). We have a meeting with Janet Newbon, Peabody's Superintendent, based at Wild Street, each month, at which we raise matters regarding our estate that are important to the welfare of our tenants. Individual tenants are encouraged to get involved with Westminster City Council regarding important matters which they feel may interfere with their quality of life. Our Tenants' Association will continue to work for the benefit of all Duval Court residents.
