Covent Garden London
The heart of London's West End
Dudley Court has survived another year coping with all the usual problems of Estate Maintenance and services to its residents. As always, the ladies of the Tenants Association have given themselves timelessly, running the Bingo every week for tenants, giving out Easter eggs to the Estate children, decorating the Tenants' Hall at Christmas and giving out Christmas hampers that were extra good this year and giving a wonderful and very popular party for the Senior Citizens and Bingo Players. They also work in the now very beautiful and mature garden with Mr Terry Jarwood, who also works tirelessly keeping the garden perfect. We have been lucky in getting more improvements and repairs carried out through our excellent District Housing Office Officers who have attended our meetings and with whom we have worked closely in order to help our now much upgraded Estate in good shape. Thank you to the District Office and workers. Dudley Court also includes a Sheltered Housing Section where the tenants receive the very efficient and kind care from the Warden, Kit, who works tirelessly for each individual. Thank-you also to Michael Wilkinson, our Treasurer, who looks after the TA accounts immaculately and who takes a great interest in local problems. That leads me to say thank you also to the Covent Garden Community Association, who have supported and helped us to ward off and defend our Estate from local offenders who cause noise and disturbance or who are planning large building and development projects around us, also helping many of our tenants with individual problems. All in all, Dudley Court has managed to keep itself in very good order, giving as well as receiving.
