Grants to Landlords, Tenants, and Owner Occupiers

There are several grants now available from the City of Westminster, some up to £2000, to help Landlords and Tenants upgrade their property.

These grants help to start and maintain energy efficiency in homes. As a result of some very simple energy efficient steps which should be taken in every home, there are lower maintenance and repair costs, lower rent arrears, fewer complaints, increased capital and rental value, lower tenant turnover, and at the same time the environment is helped. Also from the City of Westminster, Home Repair Assistance Grants are still available. From April 2001, if you are over 60 and do not receive any income related benefit, you can apply for energy efficiency measures and security measures which include central heating, insulation measures, door and window locks, and smoke alarms. These security measures are a part of the Safe and Secure Scheme grant.
