Community Skip Service.

Camden Council has arranged for a free skip service for Covent Garden residents. The scheme will be operated for two days, on Sat 20th and Sun 21st March between 9am and 4 pm. Residents can tip bulky household waste, old cabinets, armchairs, settees , etc free of charge. Many Covent Garden residents do not keep a car and invariably cannot dispose of large items and waste so easily. It is hoped the Skip Service will reduce fly-tipping and illegal dumping in Camden - anyone wishing to see what that looks like need go no further than Nottingham Court, which is used almost daily by both Camden and Westminster residents.

The skips will be emptied regularly and monitored for overloading throughout the day by officers of the Street Environment Service. You will find the skips in the following locations in Covent Garden:

If you find the service useful and would like to see it repeated, please email Camden by sending a message for the attention of Mr Tom McMahon to street.environment@camden.gov.uk

If you have bulky refuse but can't use the free Skip Service on these two days, please telephone the Camden Litter Line on 0171-413 6914 or 413 6915. There is usually a (modest) charge for this service, depending on the amount of rubbish you wish to dispose of. This is still much cheaper than a fine for illegal dumping...
