Malicious Hoax

Shepherd Foods, located at 24/25 Drury Lane, has become the victim of a nasty, malicious hoax. Recently, some residents and businesses in and around Drury Lane have received letters claiming to have been distributed by the City of Westminster.
|
These letters made false claims concerning food safety breaches, pest infestations and bad practices at Shepherd's. There were many obvious contradictions and falsities contained in the letter. One immediate give-away is that they do not come under the City of Westminster, but under the London Borough of Camden. Neither Westminster nor Camden employ a Mark Curtis. who is falsely claimed to be the Director of Public Health in the distributed letter. Also, Shepherd Foods has never had any action taken against them by the local Authority. Bob Drown, Company Supervisor, stresses 'We are proud of our record of food safety management and training. We have recently completed an extensive refurbishment and in 30 years of trading have never been prosecuted for low standards of food hygiene. We have regular external inspections of food safety procedures by independent Environmental Health Officers.' If you have any information regarding this hoax letter please contact Bob Drown during office hours. Alternatively, contact Kentish Town Police. The Police is particularly interested in anyone who may have external CCTV cameras that may have filmed the deliverer of this letter. Please also see: Food & Drink Page Contacts: |
