The Queen Visits Covent Garden School

Her Majesty the Queen visiting St. Clement Danes Primary School

Her Majesty the Queen visited St. Clement Danes Primary School today in honour of it's 300th Birthday. To pay tribute to the first year in which the doors were opened at St. Clement Danes, she was greeted by two young students dressed in traditional 18th Century school uniform clothing.

As she made her way into the school she was applauded by the many spectators who had been awaiting her arrival all afternoon. Included in the large audience of spectators were some celebrities in their own right, Chris Evans and Billie Piper who decided to drop by to catch a glance of Royalty for themselves. Once inside Her Majesty the Queen was greeted by lovely music performed by some of the students, and also other various displays all creatively designed by the pupils of St. Clement Danes.

This visit from Her Majesty the Queen was second in a run of events being held this year to celebrate this very important 300th birthday. Still to come is the annual Oranges & Lemons service at St. Clement Danes Church on 5/4/2001 and a street party in the summer.
