Open All Hours? National Conference on Licensing Reform
The National Conference on Licensing Reform will be held Saturday 24 March, 2001 at Fyvie Hall, Regent Street, London W1. This conference is being organised by the Central Cities Institute in response to the Home Office's proposals to do away with the present terminal hour of 11pm for the leisure, food, and drink industry, and replace it with 24-hour drinking in some areas based on the discretion of each local authority.
This conference is an opportunity for residents to have their say and to influence the Home Office thinking, keeping in mind that there is a good possibility that there will be a general election this May. Debates are encouraged and awareness of this issue is of most importance.
The fee is £15 plus VAT for individuals from voluntary organisations and £30 plus VAT for representatives from the private sector and local authorities. Lunch and conference papers are included in the fee.
