Covent Garden London
The heart of London's West End
May Fayre
The Covent Garden May Fayre and Puppet Festival will this year be held on Sunday 9th May. As usual, it will take place in the garden of St Paul's Church, Bedford Street, WC2. The day will start with a colourful procession at 10:30 and a special service in honour of Mr Punch at 11:30.
There will be lots of Punch & Judy shows and other puppet shows until 17:30 to amuse young and old. Stalls and tables will line the paved area in the church yard - there will be information stands, brick-a-brack tables, jumble sales and refreshments.
Local groups and charitable organisations can sell things to raise money. If you wish to take part, please contact the May Fayre Committee directly.
The Covent Garden Community Association is expected to have a large jumble sale stall and will be selling plants and flowers to raise money for its community work in Covent Garden.
DO YOU HAVE ANY UNWANTED ITEMS OR BRICK-A-BRACK? Please contact the CGCA to donate it - we'll sell it and raise much needed funds! Thank you.
To book a place for your own stall or table, please write or phone The May Fayre Committee, c/o Alternative Arts, 47A Brushfield Street, London E1 6AA Tel 0171-375 0441 Fax 0171-375 0484.
