A huge range of Belgian beers and reasonably priced food. Last time we went the waiters dressed as monks... The food is well prepared and served but a few glasses of beer and the tempting liqueurs and you'll mount up a sizable bill. (LD)

Belgo's is worth going if only for the mussels and chips, they're fab. (PP)

Plummers Restaurant
33 King Street.
240 2534.

We had a lovely meal at Plummers, although it was closed for awhile due to fire damage so I'm not sure whether they have re-opened. Very reasonably priced if you chance the pre-theatre fixed price meal. (PP)

17 Henrietta Street.
836 6466.

I would like to review the food, we were sat and then waited ten minutes for a waiter to say he'd see after he'd dealt with another table (quite why he could take our order I have no idea), after being ignored for a further 15 minutes we left, which is a shame as we do like their bar next door. (LD)

I too had a similar experience when visiting Porters, I certainly wouldn't recommend it and we actually stayed for the duration of the meal. (PP)

Prospect Grill
4/6 Garrick Street

A recent and welcome addition to the Covent Garden restaurant trade. After an initial short period of being ignored the service become first rate and the food superb. We both enjoyed a wonderful leek and tarragon tart as a starter and followed it with an organic steak supplied by Portwines, the fabulous local butchers. My dessert of cinnamon ice cream was excellent. Owned by Shelly Long the formed co-owner of Cafe Pasta, the restaurant has the feel of a cocktail bar with leather booths and red washed walls combining to produce a distinctive atmosphere.

Despite its gloomy interior, you soon feel positive after one of the huge nan breads. Very large menu, reasonably priced 'Balti' style dishes. Chef knows how to use his spices - a very aromatic experience, with lots of subtle flavours. The Cobra bottled beer is a must. Service was unfriendly but prompt. Not a place to linger, but one to return to for more Balti (= bucket) experiences AFTER you have exhausted the Punjab's menu. (Anon)
