A reminder of how the market was then (1972-73)

A collection of colour photographs of the former Covent Garden Market, taken in 1972 and 1973 by photographer Nigel Dicker, will be exhibited at the Royal Opera House from June to August 2001. The photographs serve as a reminder of how Covent Garden market was before its relocation to Nine Elms. A limited number of prints of each image will be available for sale as part of Covent Garden Community Association's 30th birthday celebration.

The images will be previewed at an evening of opera - Pure Romance from Covent Garden - at St Paul's Church on Saturday 3 March from 7.15pm. (Tickets for the concert are £10, available on the door).
