The Hungarian Cultural Centre

The Hungarian Cultural Centre in Covent Garden offers a gateway to copious amounts of knowledge and expertise on Hungarian culture and its art and social sciences.

The Culture Centre is giving Hungarians the chance to finally shine with their multitude of talents that were once overshadowed by the Iron Curtain. The Centre is also working on lifting the barriers that remain a hindrance to Hungarian artists, performers and their works. Whether these barriers exist of bureaucratic tape, cultural differences, or financial difficulties, the Centre is fighting for the release of them, so that Hungary is finally given the opportunity to regain its long established European identity.

The Hungarian Cultural Centre in LondonI see the Hungarian Centre's role is as providing an important meeting point where ideas, talents and experiences of artists, writers, and intellectuals from both East and West, can be exchanged in an inspirational and welcoming environmentThe Hungarian Cultural Centre in London states Katalin Bogyay, Director General of the centre.

The Centre offers poetry nights, music soirees, jazz Fridays, and a variety of Hungarian films throughout each month. For a listing of current events contact the Centre or their helpful web site.

Katalin Bogyay welcomes you to support the wonderful events at the Centre. The Hungarian Cultural Centre in London By joining our list of Friends of the Hungarian Cultural Centre you will be giving our past, present and future artists the opportunity to regain the identity and international exposure that has been denied by many decades of political turmoil. For me personally the opening of the Centre represents recognition at last of Hungary's future role in the larger Europe now opening up from the Atlantic to the Urals, and I am proud and honoured to be associated with this long awaited event. The Hungarian Cultural Centre in London
