The heart of London's West End

The Commonwealth Club - one of Covent Garden's better kept secrets
![]() Interior |
Most people living or working in the Covent Garden area may not be aware that they are only a few streets away from a modern, light and bustling club encompassing a fantastic restaurant, 2 bars and great conference facilities. The Commonwealth Club reopened in 1998 after years of renovating and refurbishing which transformed it from a traditional English club into a modern and multicultural meeting place. It is indeed the perfect place to bring friends or business contacts or just to go for a "breather" during an otherwise hectic and busy day.
It provides a venue for the RCS's extensive programme of meetings, conferences and seminars on issues concerning the Commonwealth and their social and cultural events.
With its unique, modern design and flexible space the Commonwealth Club offers members first-class conference and banqueting facilities, for which the club has earned an excellent reputation. From its "Suspended Glass Dining Room" (the only of its kind in London) seating up to 16 people to the "Thorne Room" with a capacity of 120 people, the Club's function rooms are suitable for a wide range of events including product launches, press conferences, corporate and private receptions and wedding ceremonies.
Mark Page, the Club's award-winning Head Chef, produces a new and exciting menu every week and is responsible for conference and events' catering. All functions are catered for in-house with food freshly prepared on-site, including home made spicy wontons, preserves and exotic ice creams. The Club's flexible approach to all aspects of conference management also apply to food and beverages. From a traditional four-course dinner to a Thai Buffet or an amazing selection of canapés, you can help invent the menu.
When you become a member of the RCS you are welcome to bring your friends and colleagues, as guests, to our modern first class international restaurant and only pay £19.00 for a 3-course meal. Or enjoy a selection of beers, wines by the glass or bottle, over 150 malt whiskies and a range of cocktails and fruit juices in one of our two bars. These are open until 11.30pm from Monday to Saturday.
Both individual and corporate membership is available. For a membership pack or to arrange a tour of the Commonwealth Club, please contact Carolyn Kelly.
