Rev Preb Austen Williams CVO

The Covent Garden Community Association's first Chairman, the Rev Austen Williams, died on 9th December 2001.

From 1956 to his retirement in 1984 he was the Vicar of St Martins-in-the-Fields. Everyone currently living or working in Covent Garden has much to thank Austen for his loyalty to the area and his dedication to help the poorest and oppressed.

Here is just a brief glimpse of a "giant of a man" to whom all users of Covent Garden owe an immense gratitude.
