Info for & about Spin Doctors
With the media and the Government currently falling over themselves to extol the virtues of Ecommerce, you will find the Covent Garden website a breath of fresh air - just a good old-fashioned source of information. Information about anything that is of interest to Covent Garden's residents, businesses and visitors. You name it, we have information about it or a link to it. To help you find the information you need we now have a clever search engine, which will search our entire site for a name or key-word. When you visit our site click on the search button.

Although we do not sell anything on-line, you can become a member of the Covent Garden Community Association or make a donation, both on-line. These would be just the things we would love you to do, as it helps us to survive. We are a non-profit organisation and a registered charity, and provide a free service to anyone with an interest in Covent Garden. Please consider sponsoring us to help us enter the new millennium with confidence. Thanks! click on CGCA Donations

The results of a comprehensive joint traffic study by Camden and Westminster Councils has now been published. The study has resulted in a number of recommendations, most of which will have a far-reaching effect on anyone who lives or does business in Covent Garden. The scheme aims to reduce through traffic and seeks to create London's first 'Clear Zone'. Although consultation will not officially start until Spring 2000, we would like to hear your views. We have a set of the plans and a copy of the study report available and would be happy to discuss this huge scheme with you. If you live or run a business in or near Long Acre, Drury Lane, the Seven Dials area, Shaftesbury Avenue, Betterton Street or Endell Street, THIS WILL AFFECT YOU.

The CGCA Planning & Licensing Sub-committee is looking for anyone who wants to take part in the day-to-day decision making process which affects the whole of Covent Garden. Every fortnight, the Sub-committee meets to comment on planning and licensing applications directly to Camden Council, Westminster City Council and the Licensing Justices. You don't need special skills or qualifications, just a keen interest in wanting to make Covent Garden a better place to live, visit or do business. Please contact us for more details and a list of forthcoming meeting dates.
