The Annual General Meeting of the Covent Garden Community Association will

be held on Wednesday 4th July 2001 and you are invited. Our guest speaker

is MICHAEL PALIN, who will talk about his Monty Python years in Covent

Garden and his globe trotting.

WHERE:  New Connaught Rooms, Great Queen Street, Covent Garden

WHEN:  Wednesday 4th July 2001 at 6.30pm until late

WHAT’S ON:  AGM and social gathering afterwards

WHAT’S THE CATCH:  we only have room for 300 people, so please arrive early.

The CGCA's Annual Report for the year 2000/2001 has now been printed (kindly

sponsored by Rugby Estates plc). You can pick up a copy at the AGM on 4th

July or read all articles on the Web.

Lots of fun for all the family. Neal Street will be the scene of one of our

30th anniversary events - a street festival with a real community focus.

There will be stalls, music & entertainment, a Food & Delicatessen Market,

various competitions, and a huge jumble sale.

WHERE:  Neal Street, Earlham Street & Short’s Gardens, Covent Garden

WHEN:  Saturday 28th July 2001 between 11am – 6pm

WHAT’S ON:  free entertainment, Indian music, stalls, games & competitions

WHAT’S THE CATCH:  we have been unable to confirm the weather forecast.

A stunning, free exhibition of colour photographs of the old Covent Garden

fruit, vegetable and flower market is now on at the Royal Opera House.

Compare today's Covent Garden with what it looked like in 1972 in these

interesting photographs.

WHERE:  1st floor Gallery area, Royal Opera House, Covent Garden

WHEN: daily between 10am – 3pm until the middle of August

WHAT’S ON:  free access to the ROH & a glorious collection of old pics

WHAT’S THE CATCH:  not open on days when there is a matinee performance.
