Every second Sunday in May the church yard of St Paul’s Church is

transformed into a huge puppet festival with the UK’s largest gathering

of Punch & Judy shows.

Enjoy live Opera and good music in venues with a difference. The 10th Covent

Garden Festival of opera and music starts on Saturday and will be using

venues as diverse as the Royal Courts of Justice, the Theatre Museum, Temple

Church and HMS President on the River Thames.

Neal Street will be transformed into a giant street festival on Saturday

28th July to host the CGCA’s 30th birthday celebrations, as well as the

festivities at the Punjab Restaurant, London’s oldest Punjabi dining room,

who have been in Neal Street a mere 50 years. There will be a Food &

Delicatessen Market, stalls, music & entertainment, slowest bicycle race,

competitions, a huge jumble sale, and lots of fun for all the family.



WHERE:  Neal Street, Earlham Street & Short’s Gardens, Covent Garden

WHEN:  Saturday 28th July 2001 between 11am – 6pm

WHAT’S ON:  free entertainment, Indian music, stalls, games & competitions

Between February and September this year the Covent Garden Community

Association is celebrating its 30th anniversary. Founded in 1971, the CGCA

is one of London’s most influential community groups. This milestone is

celebrated with a range of events - from guided walks, a street festival,

historic films & slides of Covent Garden, to fun lectures, tea dances, a

garden party and a photographic exhibition at the Royal Opera House!

The Annual General Meeting will take place on Wednesday 4th July at the New

Connaught Rooms, Covent Garden.
