PUBLIC MEETING
TELL THE DECISION MAKERS WHAT YOU THINK
OF THE TRAFFIC SITUATION IN COVENT GARDEN!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

This is a special 'TRAFFIC' newsletter to inform you of an important
PUBLIC MEETING which is due to take place
at 18:30 hrs on Wednesday 29th March at:

The New Connaught Rooms Conference Centre, Great Queen Street, WC2

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

It has been organised by the Covent Garden Community Association in an
attempt to inform as many residents, businesses and decision makers as
possible about the plans to remove through-traffic from Covent Garden.

Whilst these proposals are very thorough, they are unlikely to please
everyone. If you wish to find out how your street, business or property
is affected, we urge you to attend the meeting on Wednesday 29th.

The proposals will affect just about every street in the area between
Charing Cross Road, Shaftesbury Avenue, High Holborn, Kingsway,
Strand and Trafalgar Square.

Streets where major changes are proposed include:

Shelton Street, Henrietta St, Long Acre, Endell St, Drury Lane,
Upper St Martin's Lane, Short's Gardens, Betterton St, Tavistock St

The aim of the proposals is the removal of through-traffic, whilst
maintaining access for residents, taxis, delivery vehicles, etc. This is
done by creating 3 separate cells that are accessed from the periphery.
Movement between cells will be prevented. Cyclists are not affected.
