Joyce Kirby

Joyce has lived in Covent Garden for many years and so has a good local knowledge of the area. This, together with a background in marketing (travel/hotels) and public relations (film industry), enables her to contribute to the work of the CGCA, mainly in the area of improving the quality of life for residents. She has served on the CGCA Executive Committee for the last three years and during that time has taken an active interest in the Planning and Environment Sub-Committees. She represents the CGCA in the Save London's Theatres Campaign and is a deputy CGCA representative on the ROH Community Liaison Group.

Joyce has taken several local issues under her wing - such as helping to obtain a zebra crossing in Drury Lane - and is now anxious to save the launderette facilities at the 'Oasis' for local residents, particularly senior citizens. She is also always ready with her 'A Team' of helpers to handle mail-outs and sort jumble!

She likes the theatre, opera and eating out .... and so loves living in Covent Garden. Joyce is anxious, like most of us, that Covent Garden should not lose its character and succumb to an area of dubious drinking bars and all that accompanies them. Joyce re-iterates that Covent Garden is an attractive place to live and because of this she is ready to contribute time and energy to promoting and maintaining high standards in the area.
